13. Art On Parade

This lovely art group would love to invite your children to a special art session. This will take place on Saturday 6th May, in the Ripley Arts Studio, (24 Sundridge Avenue, Bromley) from 9 till 10:30 (so you can get back to watch the big event at 11 o clock!)

14. Regal Riverhill Treasure Hunt

At Riverhill gardens there will be a royal-themed treasure hunt for all ages.

Collect a sheet from the Ticket Office and enjoy finding all the different crowns located around the Garden. Each one will be sited somewhere with a Royal connection. A wonderful way to learn more about the plants and history of Riverhill.

Then claim your special Regal Riverhill sticker.

This will take place 10am – 5pm. Saturday 6th May, Sunday 7th May and Bank Holiday Monday.

No need to book and no additional charge after our usual entry fee.

Those of you who don’t know the site, this is at Riverhill Himalayan Gardens, Riverhill, Sevenoaks, Kent, TN15 0RR.

15. Coronation picnic in Knole’s Green Court

Take part in The Big Lunch at Knole and bring along your own picnic whilst enjoying the beautiful surroundings of Green Court. Play with giant games and have fun dressing up as kings and queens. There will be free craft activities for all to enjoy, including decorating your own crown.

Knole Court, Sevenoaks, Kent on Sunday 7 May 2023 at 11:00 – 15:00.

This event is free, but normal admission charges apply for the venue.

16. Coronation Street Party — Rochester Cathedral

The cathedral will be opening their doors all day on the 6th May for people to come and celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.

Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic and a blanket to join others watching the Coronation. The Nave will be emptied of chairs allowing groups to picnic in the medieval Cathedral.

There will be one picnic bench with a difference available – The Jubilee Oak Table. The spectacular 13m long table is made from the wood of a 5,000 year old fossilised black oak tree. It was dedicated to HM Queen Elizabeth II for her Platinum Jubilee. This is a one-off chance for visitors to eat around this ‘Table for the Nation’. Seats around the table will be allocated on a first come, first served basis throughout the day.

The Cathedral will project the Coronation Ceremony itself onto screens inside the Cathedral.

 The Cathedral will be open from 10am – 6pm. Admission is free but donations are welcomed. The Cathedral’s Café in the Crypt will be open between 10am and 4pm  for anyone who fancies a cream tea or has forgotten their sandwiches.

17. Whitstable Coronation Fun Day and Market

Taking place on Sunday May 07 2023 at 10:00 am. Whitstable Castle, at Tower Hill, would love for you to join them in celebrating the coronation of King Charles III!

There will be a selection of food, craft and gift stalls, hot food, entertainment, music, bar, sweets, face painting and much more!

18. Kent Life

Join in the fun at Kent Life Farm and watch the King’s Coronation on a big screen in the Big Top! Sit back and relax as you drink Pimm’s, devour a cream tea and take part in other Royal activities across site!

Taking place on Saturday 6 May, 2023, from 10:00 – 17:00

19. Leeds Castle Garden party

Celebrate the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, at the royal home of seven former queens of England for a right royal garden party!

Over the bank holiday weekend, visit Leed’s Castle on the Pavilion Lawn for classic garden games as you challenge friends and family to a game of giant Jenga, croquet and quoits.

Bring a picnic or sample the mouth-watering tasty treats from our various on-site food outlets, and relax on a deck chair as you enjoy the sound of live music setting the scene throughout the day.

Little ones can make their own royal crowns in the free workshop. Then children can choose their favourite outfits from the dress up station, pose for a portrait in front of our ‘instagrammable’ floral arch, so you can remember where you were on the coronation weekend for years to come.

Explore the brand new play area ‘Beach at Leeds Castle’.

20. Hever Castle

From Saturday 6th – 8th May, celebrate The King’s Coronation at the home of two former queens of England.

Bring along a picnic and revel in the royal atmosphere of the historic Castle and stunning gardens or purchase mouth-watering treats from the Moat Café. 

Your little ones can get creative and decorate their own crown or shield in a workshop, plus they can get their face painted*.

**They will not be publicly screening the King’s Coronation.
