As part of Black History Month, Google Doodle celebrated Haitian-American model and disability rights advocate Mama Cax. Mama Cax is known for her catwalks with her prosthetic leg and breaking barriers and expectations in the fashion industry.

Born in 1989 in Brooklyn, NY, Mama Cax was diagnosed with bone and lung cancer when she was 14. An unsuccessful hip replacement surgery at 16 resulted in her right leg getting amputated. Mama Cax was initially depressed by this outcome but eventually embraced it. She started advocating for inclusivity in fashion & social media, became a model in 2017, appeared on Teen Vogue in 2018, and walked in NYFW (New York Fashion Week) in 2019. Sadly, Mama Cax passed away in 2019 but she is remembered for her resilience, triumph over cancer, her impressive career, and for expanding the image of people with disabilities.
