Eligibility for Full-time Students

To become a registered full-time student at ICAP, individuals must meet specific eligibility criteria. The following categories of applicants are eligible for full-time student registration:

Graduates with 16 Years of Education

Applicants who have completed 16 years of education from a local or foreign university recognized by the competent authority of higher education in Pakistan are eligible for full-time student registration.

Graduates with 14 Years of Education

Candidates with 14 years of education and a minimum of 45% aggregate marks or equivalent grades may apply for full-time student registration. They must have also passed the Pre-requisite Competencies (PRC) under Directive 1.20 or obtained an exemption from PRC under Directive 1.21.

Eligibility Requirements Completion

Individuals who have fulfilled the eligibility requirements for registration by completing or obtaining exemption from the Qualifying Assessment Test (QAT) and completing the Pre-Requisite Competencies (PRC) under Directive 1.20 or obtaining exemption from PRC under Directive 1.21 are eligible for full-time student registration.

Professional Accountancy Bodies

Applicants who have passed examinations from professional accountancy bodies approved by the ICAP Council, as specified in Directive 1.21, are eligible for full-time student registration.

Training Period

Eligibility for Trainee Students

To become a registered trainee student at ICAP, individuals must meet specific eligibility criteria. The following categories of applicants are eligible for trainee student registration:

Completion of CAF Stage or Equivalent Examinations

Applicants who have completed the Certificate in Accounting & Finance (CAF) stage or obtained exemption from CAF stage, or have passed equivalent examinations of the Institute, and have also completed or been exempted from applicable Hands-on Courses, are eligible for trainee student registration.

Graduation with 16 Years of Education

Candidates who have graduated from a bachelor’s program with 16 years of education from a local or foreign university recognized by the competent authority of higher education in Pakistan are eligible for trainee student registration.

Graduation with 14 Years of Education

Applicants who have graduated from a bachelor’s program with a minimum of 14 years of education, with 45% aggregate marks or equivalent grades, from a local or foreign university recognized by the competent authority of higher education in Pakistan, and have passed the Pre-Requisite Competencies (PRC) under Directive 1.20 or obtained exemption from PRC under Directive 1.21, are eligible for trainee student registration.

Graduation with AFC Qualification

Individuals who have graduated from a bachelor’s program with a minimum of 14 years of education, with 45% aggregate marks or equivalent grades, from a local or foreign university recognized by the competent authority of higher education in Pakistan, and have passed the Assessment of Fundamental Competencies (AFC) under Directive 1.22 or obtained exemption from AFC, are eligible for trainee student registration.

Entry Levels

Qualifying Assessment Test (QAT)

Trainee students are required to pass the QAT, which assesses their proficiency in English Language, Mathematics, and Analytical Reasoning.

CA Qualification

Certified Finance and Accounting Professional (CFAP)

Professional Values, Ethics, and Attitude (PVEA)

Trainee students must also complete an online course that focuses on developing professional values, ethics, and attitude.
