Alejandro and I were walking down the main commercial street in his neighborhood. There were many vendors who had stalls set up along the side walk. One of the vendors had a live iguana tied up.
I know that in some parts of Mexico, iguana meat is used in stews, tacos and other dishes. I asked Alejandro if this iguana was being sold as food. He said, “No”. The iguana was probably the vendor’s pet.
