Iguana on a Rope


 Alejandro and I were walking down the main commercial street in his neighborhood.  There were many vendors who had stalls set up along the side walk.  One of the vendors had a live iguana tied up.

I know that in some parts of Mexico, iguana meat is used in stews, tacos and other dishes.  I asked Alejandro if this iguana was being sold as food.  He said, “No”.  The iguana was probably the vendor’s pet.
