Accessible Assessment ARC Linkage team & Benowa State High School awarded the Southern Cross University Excellence in Innovation Award for Innovation Program of the Year – The Centre for Inclusive Education


The 2023 Gold Coast State Secondary Education Ball and Excellence Awards were held by the Gold Coast Secondary principals Alliance at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre on Saturday 17 June.

The Accessible Assessment ARC Linkage team and Benowa State High School were awarded the Southern Cross University Excellence in Innovation Award for Innovation Program of the Year!

English Head of Department, Matt Pickersgill, along with QUT Lead Chief Investigators Prof Linda Graham and A/Prof Jill Willis, accepted the award on behalf of the team. This project has involved three large State Secondary Schools, and 434 students and almost 50 teachers across the three schools.

This prestigious award reflects the hard work of the Partner schools and research team!

Phase 1 Results from this project were shared at the Accessible Assessment Forum in November 2022. Phase 2 Results will be shared on October 6, 2023, at the 2023 Accessible Assessment Forum. Learn more about the Forum here (registrations opening soon).
