I haven’t been writing much this school year, but I have been reading a lot! When I (re)started this blog in the summer of 2017, I started a Friday feature, but I couldn’t keep up with it. I’m going to attempt to get that going again: Friday Favorite Finds. In these (semi weekly) posts, I will share my favorite reads from the web.
As an instructional coach, I’ve been combing the internet to collect resources, sites, and articles about instructional strategies so I have a lot on hand to share with teachers as the need arises.
Here are a few of my current favorites!
28 Student-Centered Instructional Strategies from TeachThought–I love this handy little chart. It’s a quick, easy reference for ideas. TeachThought is one of my favorite ed sites in general. You never know what gem you find there!
High Impact Strategies to Use Right Now from Web 2.0 Classroom– Have you read Visible Learning (or any of the offshoots)? I’m currently (slowly) reading Visible Learning for Literacy
16 Practical Strategies to Help You Differentiate Your Teaching from Educational Technology and Mobile Learning– This is a nice infographic to reference easy-to-implement strategies for differentiation.
Make Lectures Interactive from the awesome Todd Finley– His site is an amazing resource for all kinds of strategies, but I have a lot of teachers who like to lecture in high school, and this little graphic has several ways they can spice it up a little!
Teaching Channel –There are so many great ideas on this site, but sometimes it can feel like you’re mining for precious gems. I like to go to the topic page first and try to narrow down what I’m looking for. They also have a whole section dedicated to coaching!
Of course, I have to mention Cult of Pedagogy, which I can probably find a way to incorporate into every Friday Favorite Finds post. Jennifer is the best!
